houses-of-parliament3POLLY TICKS – On where Big Biz is going.

The Recession is in full swing and a pattern is beginning to emerge. Indeed, it is going just as I thought it would. You see, it is good news for some – in ways that are so subtle it is brilliant.

Big Biz has been hoping for this day.

capitalist-21This may seem a strange statement to make, considering commerce is being decimated. But it is not as simple as that. Banks are being saved by government, and are merging.
Medium sized biz is slowly being wiped out, whilst supermarkets are beginning to thrive, and also beginning to move into new areas vacated by smaller biz. In the UK they’re even taking on staff.

And then there’s anything to do with oil.

Like the car industry – being bailed out. And what government will let the oil industry itself go under? Beginning to see a picture? Big Biz is using the Recession to take over.
You can also add the green message – designed to eventually validate new nuclear power stations to keep Big Biz healthy – and an increasingly dumbing down media, full of soaps and reality TV to keep us numb – and, of course, keep the celebrities at the top to make us yearn for riches.
With the housing market collapse, government in now funding it all direct from your taxes, which will eventually lead to a merging of government and the corporate world – and our serfdom will be complete.
One last point: don’t call this a conspiracy. No one is conspiring to do it. It is simply in the nature of how power manifests and grows. Unless we say no.

My Columnists

newsflash

BRIT NEWS: Heavy snow hits large parts of England.
No one’s said it’s the wrong kind of snow this time,
but parts of country still closed.

GREEN NEWS: Davos says 10 trillion dollars spending on green tech
by 2030 to have effect. That’ll make Big Biz & govt green. Sickly
green.

BRIT NEWS: Tories move from ‘enterprise’ to ‘responsibility.’ Pity
they didn’t think of it before mega-enterprise led to irresponsibility.

BRIT NEWS: Brown says strikes not right. This from man who leads
a democracy with no mandate from an election. That’s what’s not
right!

WORLD NEWS: ‘Landmark’ local elections in Iraq? Don’t think so.
All elections in Iraq irrelevant. I’m waiting for one after troops leave.

BRIT NEWS: Brown says protectionism will make Recession worse.
Maybe, but would it have happened if we’d thought more of
national economy?

BRIT NEWS: Factories hybernate ’til summer. Strikes begin over
foreign workers. A harsh economic winter sets in. Hurry spring.

THE PHILOSOPHY

To know is to empower

**********

C is for … COMA

Lying there, very still,
negative function, can’t take no pill,
to assist you back to a real life,
tears all round from child and wife;
But tell me, do those thoughts persist?
Is there somewhere you do exist?
Are you in another world,
beauty, experience, still unfurled?
Maybe we will never know,
‘cos coming round, such secrets go

people-11THE FOOL – Fiction

It was hard for him living there. Where is not important. All that is important is that he lived there, and so did others. And it was those ‘others’ who were the problem.
Well, I say ‘problem’, but not to him, but themselves.
He’d just get on with his life, in his own peculiar way, doing this and that just as he felt he should. And the ‘others’ would watch him, and think: ‘what a fool.’
Now why would they think that, you might ask? And the answer was quite simple. They thought him a fool because he did things differently to them. And in doing things ‘differently’ he simply had to be a fool. After all, didn’t THEY know how to do things properly?
Of course, he never realised they thought this of him. After all, if he did, he really would have been a fool – ‘cos only a fool would live among fools.
So which is this ‘fool’, you may ask? Well, it’s him, and him, and him; oh! Don’t forget him. Yes, they were all different, and in this, they were all the same.

WILD IS THE WIND

Wild is the wind as the hot air grows,
heralding the planet’s malign death throes,
Wild is the wind as the hot air grows,
from our pathetic politicians who think they know,
Wild is the wind as the hot air grows,
to the furnace of self-genocidal blows

THE NEW DAWN

Apocalypse comes, apocalypse goes,
Survivors few, a new man rose,
Back to nature, all is good,
Fruit of the ground, house of mud,
All as one, everything dear,
Then came a man; said: ‘I’ve got an idea!’
Abstract thought was here once more,
On the road again to apocalyptic jaws

ROUND AND ROUND

Round and round destruction goes,
When will it end? Who knows;
Societies crumple thru illicit thought,
What a nerve, ending in naught;
Maybe we dream of the perfect world,
waiting for Utopia to be unfurled?
Problem is, if we could ever afford,
There’d be nothing to do!
We’d end up bored

LAST MAN STANDING

Maybe apocalypse is beyond our control,
We’re destined for it to take its toll;
Consider the last man to be alive,
Would he able to grow and thrive?
Deep in his mind thoughts would whirl,
Some rather nasty, others would twirl;
Undecided about what to do,
Personalities rise, archetypal stew;
So the reality is, though he’s all alone,
He’d argue with himself, chew the bone;
But from where did those archetypes come?
Was it from man, just for fun?
Or maybe they’re universal clods;
That’s it then,
It always was in the lap of the gods
