Democratic God

The idea that there is consciousness within the universe will not go
away. One way is to see it is as similar to the internet – something
vast we all have access to. This allows us to see a possible
consciousness as an enabler rather than dictator, with spirituality
being a form of access, the ‘system’ providing evidence of what you
want to believe. How democratic.

if they deserve global acceptance.

BRIT NEWS: Prince Harry does his first official overseas tour – to

WORLD NEWS: Bush says he was right to torture suspects.
It saved lives. Yes, maybe, but it degrades the

E-MOTION

Blogging, such fun, until it won’t post,
Now calm down; getting angry will cost YOU the most!
And then lovely email – DAMN!! – wrong address,
Easy, easy! Such distress;
And search engines – mass info – turning brain to ice.
$%&*%”^&!! – Oh dear; that’s not very nice …
But finally the friends you’ve met in this sphere;
At last, real e-motion – always sincere

ADD SPICE TO LIFE

Fiction: They were a miserable family before Spicer arrived. Where he
came from, they didn’t know, but he was soon asked to stay. You
see, he was just so much fun and they discovered how to laugh once
more, how to live life to the full. Of course, they were also naïve, as
they found out when he left, taking their savings with him. At first
they were angry with themselves for being so stupid. Then the anger
turned towards Spicer. But as the anger subsided and they could still
smile, they realised they had stolen quite a lot from him, too.

POLITICIAN’S MOTION

The politician sits; it’s all about his motion,
He’s very loud – causing quite a commotion,
Getting it all out, leaving quite a stink,
Constant grunts and groans – hardly time to think,
Then it’s all over – gets away in a rush,
Not forgetting, of course, the toilet flush

TONY’S MUSE DIARY

You’re boring, I said to Him Outside. Here I am trying to blog proper
about you and you don’t DO anything! He disagreed, of course: did a
bit of cooking, reading, a bit of gardening, listened to some music,
and, of course, his writing and blogging – went to many different
worlds, there. I told him I knew that – I’m his muse, after all – I was
there. But what do I blog about? He said: it’s not my fault I’ve got cfs
and have to take it easy. And anyway, I lived life to the full before I
got it. I know, I said: Ever thought that may be why you’ve got it?

Universal Consciousness? I wrote a novel once. A great, inspired story. I was truly impressed by me. I sent it to a friend. She responded by sending me a newly published novel by a writer I had never before heard of — and it was almost my story. That still boggles my mind.

E-motion — often more sincere than emotings in RL.

    Spicer then, was adequately compensated?

That political poem was a bit of a log.

And your muse seems to be quite bemused by you.

  2. Hi Quilly,
Thanks for that. Not sure we should see Spicer as compensated. As for the novel, this happens quite a lot, I’m told. A similar thing has happened to me with a short story once. It’s very annoying. And as for my muse – well, he just doesn’t understand me ;-)

  3. this is so much like a newsletter…
my second time here and I’ll be back

Do you ever check your back trail? Are you aware that your comments often start a party on my blog? You are as much fun over there as you are here!

  5. Hi Als Simmons,
Thanks for that. Much appreciated. I purposely do it as a kind of magazine post, offering variety.

  6. Hi Quilly,
Not always, but i usually do – time doesn’t always allow, sadly. Certainly I enjoyed the ‘quack’ thread :-)

Mankind is like a child in a play pen, we are playing and learning all about our abilities. Theres alot to learn.

  8. E-motions is real good. I loved it!

i don’t know what i would have done without the love and support of my blogging friends over the course of this last very difficult week.. the computer might be frustrating at times,, but the people that i have come to know by way of it are priceless…

  10. Simonne said

Ha! Love the blogging poem! :)

  11. Hi James,
There is indeed a lot to learn. Problem is, many think they’ve learnt it.

    Hi Gautami,
Thanks for that. Glad you liked it.

    Hi Paisley,
Yes, it’s a massive support network at times. It makes me really feel connected.

    Hi Simonne,
Many thanks. A bit of fun, but an importantr subject.

  12. Your poor muse.
    She don’t get no satisfaction.
She just says her truth and waits. For it to dawn on Him Outside, as if he’d thought of it His-own-self.

    Thanks, Anthony–great stuff as always!

  13. Hi Beth,
I’m trying to think of a witty answer here, but the muse ain’t communicating :-)

  14. Linda G said

    Hi Anthony,
I like your response to James- it pretty much states what I was going to comment on re your ‘Democratic God’. Humans seem to need to create their own ‘clique’ version of God & reject anyone elses. If only we could think more along the lines of what you wrote- the world, and each individual, would be far better for it.

Prince Harry seems to be maturing quite nicely. He’s gotten good USA press on his visit to NYC. People forget we all usually go thru a ‘wild time’ when we are young & starting to feel our way around in the world on our own.

  15. Hi Linda,
Thanks for that. I guess the only real truth is there isn’t one. We should simply be what we feel right with, and accept this to be so for everyone else.
Yes, Prince Harry went thru a wild time alright, and why not?

I like your idea of universal consciousness being akin to the internet, AN.
We have to remember then, that everything we pick up from both sources isn’t always reliable, and some of it can be dangerous.

That muse of yours has to take a bit of blame too doesn’t he, AN? He egged you on to do all that high-livin, burnin’ it at both ends stuff, in younger days. Tell him to be fair! ;-)

  17. I loved the Politician’s Motion. I spewed water all over my monitor. Thanks for the belly laugh.

Have a terrific day Anthony. :)

  18. Reader Wil said

I read most of your items and this one struck me in particular:”Bush says he was right to torture suspects.
It saved lives. Yes, maybe, but it degrades the civilization..” It degrades himself in the first place too. He pretended to be a Christian and degraded real Christians. He really behaved like a warcriminal by defending torture and humiliation. I can’t forget those pictures of the Abu Ghraib prison, where Muslim men were humiliated by a woman in the most disgusting way. By her behaviour we will all be blamed. I wished those torturors would be severely punished.
Thanks for sharing and your visit.

  19. Hi Twilight,
A very important warning there. Yes, so much can be dangerous. Another reason for the importance of moderation in our knowledge.
As for B Muse, I can’t really blame him, i suppose. It was me who was having the fun ;-)

    Hi Sandee,
Thanks for that. It’s great to know I can have such an effect :-)
A shame the politician’s do also.

    Hi Reader Wil,
I think this will be lost on him, unfortunately, but you’re right. And of course there’s also the argument that it cost lives, with additional Muslim anger causing more soldier’s deaths than otherwise would have been.

  20. Selma said

I cried when I saw the men tortured at Abu Ghraib. Totally unforgivable.

  21. Hi Selma,
It was indeed. Sadly it happens all too often in war.

  22. Andy said

Hi Tony, I like the idea of the universal consciousness, but not sure about the bit about it being providing evidence of what you want to believe, although in a cynical way, I like the thought of that ‘democratic god’ statement too.

May your muse continue to amuse you!!

  23. Hi Andy,
Thanks for that. I guess we all find evidence for what we believe one way or the other. It seems a universal.
As for the muse, yes he’s fun ;-)

  24. And I personally, Anthony, love your posts!!! With e-motion, I say…. I’m very sincere in that that I write to you now.

My motion is posted now…come by for a visit, won’t you?

  25. I like your God/Internet comparison. This suggests we shape God as God shapes us. And that’s cool.

  26. James said

God is still. It us who changes depending on our level of obtainment.

  27. Karen said

LOL Yes, one must exercise patience when dealing with computers. I pat mine and say, “nice puter”.

  28. Hi Hootin’ Anni,
Thank for those kind words. They are much appreciated. I’ll definitely be along soon :-)

    Hi Sandy,
Yes, that’s the idea, and I’m sure there’s a lot to it.

    Hi James,
I’d delete the word ‘God’ and insert ‘univeral consciousness’, but yes, I’d agree with that stillness. Change, etc, is provided by the reality (illusion?) we input at a lower level. The consciousness facilitates.

    Hi Karen,
I like that. I’ve done quite a few unmentionable things to my ‘puter, too :-)

I agree that the internet can be real pain sometimes, but the friends we meet make it worth it.

Where else would someone give you a pointy hat. I wasn’t aware you wanted a pointy bra as well. I need to go check the upcoming themes….

    *runs away*

  32. Hi Skittles,
And the pointy hat looked very nice last week. Give me another one, and some thread, and you’ve nearly sent me that bra :-)

  33. e-Motion – isn’t it amazing how we come to know one another? I cannot imagine life with the Internet and without Blogging Buds. Well, I really can. And it’s not a pretty picture.

  34. Simone said

heheheheh LOl – thank your the laugh I needed it today (E-motions)

  35. Hi Tumblewords,
Me neither. It opens up a whole new world, and a great community.

    Hi Simone,
Glad to be of service ;-)

    “E-Motion” & “Politician”- Very cute!!

  37. Hi Bundleocontradictions,
Thanks for that. I liked the Politician one myself :-)

  38. Dr. John said

I liked your opening. It gets people thinking.
Your right torture for any reason degrades the society that does it.

  39. Hi Dr John,
Thanks for that. Yes, as far as I’m concerned torture is never acceptable. We MUST be above that.

  40. I’m with you on the speech thing. There is a common misperception that free speech means the right to shoot off the mouth without any obligations or responsibilities.

  41. Hi Sandy,
Yes, there is always a duty within freedom. Nothing comes free.

  42. Art is a reflection of society and deserves our thought–even if we don’t like it.

  43. Hi Sandy,
Yes, this is very true. For better or worse.
